Terry from near Chattanooga (pop. 180.000) TN, USA joined us in Amsterdam and will sail with us to Stockholm. He retired at the age of 65 and now, at 70, he enjoys life by sailing, traveling and to play golf. Terry is a Jennifer repeat crew member. In 2018 he sailed with Captain Lasse in the Mediterranean Sea.
Terry has an interesting background. As a young man he was a cattle farmer in Iowa and later in Texas. But farming was not very profitable* and in 1983 he went back to university and got his MBA. After graduation he moved to Vermont and worked for an oil company and after 8 years there he moved to Chattanooga and worked in financial services until his retirement. Terry is married, has two sons and two grandchildren.
*There were lots of rattlesnakes on Terry's farm in Texas. When he was out working in the field he used to bring a cooler box with him. Any rattle snake that came his way ended up dead in the cooler box. Back home he put them in the freezer. Once he had collected a fair amount of snakes he sold the lot to a local restaurant. He told me that he made more money selling snakes than he could make from his cattle business. When I asked him about the taste of rattle snake meat his reply was a simple "fishy".
