Time to set sail again...

...for an extended and salty trip, this time with start in Southern Europe and heading in a northerly direction.

On May 1st I will fly to Faro, Portugal to sign on as an active crew member on S/Y Jennifer (total crew: 8). She is currently anchored in Lagos Marina which is located at the southern tip of Portugal,
1 hour by car from Faro Airport. Jennifer is a 31 year old attractive lady, 50 foot long (15 meters), French born and a proud member of the Beneteau Oceanis family.

After a couple of stops in Portugal (Cascais/Lisbon and Porto), our sailing trip will continue in the northern direction for a stop over in Finistere, Spain. After crossing the Bay of Biscay we will reach Cowes, Isle of Wight. After two days of pubs & fish & chips we will cross the busy English Channel
in order to reach Amsterdam for a couple of days filled with art and culture.

Before leaving Holland we will spend three happy Heineken days on the Inland Waterways of the Netherlands before it is time for Jennifer to point her bow towards the North Sea. Starting from Brunsbüttel, Germany her engine (Perkins 80 hp) will propel us through the Kiel Canal (61 miles, 98 km) to the Baltic Sea. After a stop over at Borgholm (a small town located on Öland, Sweden's second largest island) we hope to reach Stockholm on June 3rd or 4th, approx. 5 weeks after start from Lagos.

If the wind is favourable and I have enough inspiration and energy after performing various mandatory duties on board, I will update my blog on a irregular basis! Welcome to visit for trip updates!
